Cornerstone Bank has donated $5,000 to support a summer learning program serving low-income youth in Worcester, continuing its support after a $5,000 contribution in 2024.
The program serves students entering fourth grade in two of Worcester’s lowest-performing schools, providing academic instruction, mentorship and enrichment opportunities during the month of July. It is designed to prevent summer learning loss while helping students build the skills and confidence needed for a key academic transition year.
Participants receive daily instruction in core subjects along with arts, physical activity and field trips. The program also offers individualized attention and consistent mentorship, helping students strengthen both academic performance and personal development.
“Education opens doors, and every child deserves the support needed to succeed,” said Todd Tallman, CEO of Cornerstone Bank. “We are proud to continue investing in a program that gives Worcester students the tools, confidence and opportunities to thrive in the classroom and beyond.”
Program leaders aim to increase math and reading scores, improve readiness for fourth grade and provide a well-rounded experience that motivates students and expands their perspective on future success.
