Cornerstone Bank has donated $10,000 to Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, Inc., to support its outpatient mental health clinic and psychoeducation programs. This latest contribution brings the bank’s total support since 2023 to $35,000.
The funding supports free, professional mental health counseling for low- to moderate-income families. About 75 percent of clients served are youth ages 5 to 18.
This donation helps sustain counseling hours, allowing the organization to maintain a waitlist that’s much shorter than many providers. It also supports the Waitlist Crisis Program, which offers intensive sessions for youth facing serious mental health challenges, who do not require emergency care.
“Access to timely mental health care can make a critical difference for young people and their families,” said Todd Tallman, CEO of Cornerstone Bank. “We are proud to support services that provide immediate help and stability during challenging times.”
Across Massachusetts, many families face delays of several months for behavioral health services. During these gaps, symptoms can worsen and lead to emergency room visits due to limited behavioral health capacity. Programs like these help youth stabilize and safely bridge the gap until ongoing care is available.
