Cornerstone Bank donated $4,500 to support the successful 2026 Golf Fights Cancer 100-Hole Golf Marathon benefiting DetecTogether and its mission to promote early cancer detection education.
Held June 4–5 at Juniper Hill Golf Course, the annual fundraiser brought together golfers of all skill levels who played 100 holes to raise funds for cancer-related organizations and programs focused on awareness and early detection.
“DetecTogether is helping people better understand the importance of early cancer detection and encouraging them to take an active role in their healthcare,” said Todd Tallman, CEO of Cornerstone Bank. “We are proud to support Golf Fights Cancer and the organization’s efforts to educate communities and help save lives.”
Cornerstone Bank has supported the event for several years, contributing $21,000 over the last three years.
Founded by Jim and Nancy Coghlin and their family, DetecTogether works with healthcare professionals, workplaces, schools and fire departments to provide education focused on recognizing cancer warning signs earlier and improving outcomes through early detection. According to DetecTogether, nearly 40 percent of people will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, and approximately half of cancers are diagnosed at a late stage.
The Golf Fights Cancer Golf Marathon challenged participants to complete approximately 100 holes of golf while raising funds to support cancer education and advocacy initiatives. The event once again brought together supporters from across the region to advance the fight against cancer through education, awareness and early detection.
