The Charitable Donations Committee (CDC) of Cornerstone Bank is proud to announce its donation of $40,000 to the Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC). This major financial contribution will go toward assisting local residents with home heating costs this winter.
WCAC is a Worcester-based agency for Central Massachusetts, dedicated to serving those who are most in need. Winter can mean added stress for some as they try to find ways to afford their heating bills and keep their family warm. WCAC’s Fuel Assistance Program is designed to provide relief to those individuals and families that are most vulnerable to the high costs associated with heating.
“We are committed to helping those in need in the areas we serve. No one should spend the winter without heat, especially during the cold weather conditions characteristic of New England,” stated President and Treasurer Todd M. Tallman of Cornerstone Bank. “We are proud to make this donation to such a worthwhile organization and to be able to support our local community where they need it most.”
WCAC is also responsible for helping to fund community initiatives including: Head Start, Early Head Start, Healthy Families of Southern Worcester County, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) and Youth Jobs & Education.
