Cornerstone Bank employees were hard at work on Thursday, June 28th at the Habitat for Humanity Operation Playhouse Build-A-Thon. This event brought businesses from the MetroWest and Greater Worcester area together to build, paint, and decorate themed playhouses for Veteran and military families.
Nineteen Cornerstone Bank employees spent the day building two playhouses. At the end of the Build-A-Thon families were presented with their playhouses. An American flag themed playhouse went to the daughter of current US Air Force First Lieutenant, Allen Magdycz and his wife, Nicole Magdycz, of Westfield, MA. A barnyard themed playhouse went to the two daughters of US Marine Corps Veteran, Michael Wing and his wife, Ashley Wing, of Lancaster, MA.
“Operation Playhouse is a great way to give back to the community,” said Todd M. Tallman, Cornerstone Bank’s President and Treasurer. “We’re honored to have been a part of this rewarding day.”
Cornerstone Bank would like to thank Mr. Magdycz and Mr. Wing for their service and the service of all our military men and woman. We would also like to thank Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/ Greater Worcester for organizing this wonderful event and Veterans Inc. in Worcester for hosting the event.
“Our military members have sacrificed so much to protect the life that we enjoy here today in the United States. It was a privilege to be able to attend the Playhouse Build-A-Thon and give back to military families in our community,” stated Scott L. Auen, Cornerstone Bank’s SVP/Retail Lender and MetroWest/ Greater Worcester Habitat for Humanity Board Member.
